Young people seeking a deeper understanding of their relationship with God and their membership in the Church begun in Holy Baptism are invited to come together for instruction centered in Scripture and Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. Seventh and eighth graders explore the basics of Christian faith and life as they encounter the meaning of the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. The two-year program of instruction leads to the Rite of Confirmation wherein confirmands affirm the covenant God made with them in Baptism. Confirmed youth continue to grow in faith through camping experiences sponsored by our Synod and encouraged by our congregation.
