VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

The theme for this year’s Vacation Bible School is “On Earth as in Heaven”!  It will be held July 9, 10, 11, and
July 16 & 17.  A light meal will be available for adults and children from 5:30-6:00. The program will run from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. All elementary age children from Palm Lutheran Church and community are invited! Join us each evening for activities, stories, crafts and games.

“On Earth As in Heaven” explores the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer for our world today, using one petition each day to explore faith, justice and the work to which God is calling us. The program this year is unique in that each day focuses on one petition from the prayer and ties the petition to one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals in easily accessible ways.

Daily themes include zero hunger, good health, gender equality, education and peace. There will be stories about people in Mexico, Zimbabwe, Guatemala, Kenya and the United States. Ethnic foods from these areas will be served as part of the meal/snacks. So come join Kathy and sidekick Sage for a fun five days of

Vacation Bible School at Palm Lutheran Church!

CLOTHING DRIVE 2024

Collection of clothing and accessories began July 22nd, 2024 and will continue through August 14th, 2024.  A drop-off trailer will be located in Palm Church’s Parking lot.  Please do NOT drop off clothes inside the church, NOR CONTACT church staff to open the trailer door for you.

Clothes need to be clean and gently used, no tears, holes or stains.  All sizes of clothing for women, men, children and infants will be accepted.  This also includes coats, suits, and accessories (shoes, handbags, belts, gloves, mittens and hats).  All items should be placed into a bag/box.  Please indicate on the front of the bag/box the gender and size of the articles.

If you could give a couple hours of your time, or more, to assist in sorting the clothing, please sign up.  It would be greatly appreciated.  There are sign-up sheets on the table in the narthex. Times and dates are on the sign-up sheets.  More hands make light work and in this world we live in today, there is a need in our, and surrounding communities for such a worthwhile cause.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Hope to see you there!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Phyllis Moyer at
717-304-2872.

Catch the Spirit

Palm has hosted numerous “Open Door” events in the multipurpose room. These include the annual “Catch the Spirit” Halloween trick-or-treating event. This activity has grown from its beginning to hosting over 400 “ghosts ‘n’ goblins” on Palm’s community Trick-or-Treat night.

Phoenix Center

Since the relocation of Palmyra’s Public Library, Palm has made a commitment to the youth of the community, housing the Phoenix Center during the school year. This valuable after-school program
utilizes the multipurpose room for physical activities and classrooms for tutoring and homework help.
